Ode to Nothing

Ode to Nothing is a painting and poem, Jeremy created in 2005. It is a trompe l’oeil painting that looks like a poem written on a piece of lined paper that is taped to a canvas. The “paper” and “tape” are painted elements. The cast shadows are also painted.

Ode to Nothing

Out of Nothing came Something

Nothing exists within Everything

I am mostly Nothing

If God is Everywhere, God is in Nothing

Everything is afloat in a sea of Nothing

Nothing Exists

Nothing is Immense

Nothing is Infinitely Small

Nothing is Great

Nothing is Greater than Me, as I am Mostly Nothing

Nothing is the Void

Nothing fills the Void

Nothing fills the space and Unifies the Whole

Nothing is not the Opposite of Something

Nothing defines Everything

Truth is derived from understanding Nothing

So I strive to understand Nothing

The Wise know that they know Nothing

Those that know Something are Narrow Minded

In a Search for Meaning one finds Nothing

Nothing is the Quintessential Essence of Existentialism

Nothing is Pure

Nothing is Beautiful

Nothing is Constant

Nothing is the Birthplace of Creation
